Hi,

I have tested media player with some videos (.wmv) in original format and I have notice that there are many frames lost.
Reading in the guide I have found that only 192Kbit wmv video are considered playable perfectly so with windows media encoder I have converted the video in this format : 280*170 , 192 kbit.
I was very disappointed to see that frames lost are still present( of couse the are less).
Have you any clues to make a video playing perfectly?
Is that possible to handle a video of 30-40 Mb that is playable ( not a frame every 15 sec.)?

Thanks to all

280X170 is kinda odd size, try 240x160 or 160x120. Good sample videos for wmv is BMW films, they have less-than-8mb pocket pc wmv version available now, take a look .

Thank you for answering me...

Will the performance of media player change if I reserve more memory for executing apps( now I have set it to 32mb)?
Also I have tried the specific set for Ipaq and media encoder on microsoft site...I have better performance but still I have some frame lost.
I have noticed that lost frames change playing the same wmv more times, can it be a consequence of frequency switching of x-scale processor?

Another suggestion I can make is to do the EUU3 upgrade. It includes WMP 8.5, and some users report better performances.

It's maybe something with the video itself, again the bmw films ran perfectly. You might want to convert it to mpeg or divx format. Pockettv does have a commercial version that is x-scale optimized.
