I hope somebody can help ???
I bought a sandisk compact flash (64mb)
when I inserted this compact flash, on the screen appeared "disk corrupt".
I tried to format, to rename, ... nothing worked.
I went to the shop to complain. They checked ... everything OK.
They formated the compact flash for me : at least now, I can see how much memory is available on this compact flash, ... but stil no possibility to rename, to store a new file, ....
Is this a hardware or software problem ? What can I do ?

"Sandisk" CF disks are usually very reliable but occasionally a particular card and Psion just don't work together. See if you can get the card exchanged and, ideally, take your Psion with you to make sure a new card works properly.

Try removing the card from the D drive. Then use EPOC to format the D drive (sometimes 2 times until a gprint box pops up in the upper right corner stating "Disk Not Present"). It seems straightens out its thinking. I have had problems with this and after doing that it works again.
Hope this helps.

Thank you very much, Brian, but your solution didn't work out.
I tried to format the cf-card and now I even can't acces it and see how much memory is available... .... corrupt ......
This is already my second cf-card, ... the first one I turned in because I got this message "corrupt".
As I already mentioned, in the shop they tested the cf-card and formated it ... but the only result was that I could see the available memory.
As I want to format the cf-card "format disk D" and I touch OK, then two messages appear very fast one after another. I have no possibility to read the first one, ... the second one is "information timed out <continue>"...
I think I have to go back to the shop and let them try, ...
I'm really dissapointed about my psion..

I recommend you take Mike's good advice and return to the shop along with your Psion to demonstrate the problem.
Be assertive and tell them that most of your Psion-owning friends ;) are using CFs without problem, so there's no reason why you should not. I think it would be highly unreasonable if they were to refuse to exchange the card - so stick out!

It might also be worth doing a soft reset, and also ensuring that the card is pushed firmly (but carefully!) into the slot.

dear netbookbabe,
I took your advice
I went to the shop and tried out several CF-cards, even different brands, but my psion kept displaying "card corrupt" ... no possibility to format...
In the shop they said I had to have my psion repaired.....
I'm affraid this will cost me a lot...
Thanks for your advice,

Hi Dominiek,
Don't give up.
Could you try a cold reset after backing up your Psion?
Make sure that you push the CF right in.

Did you try formatting the CF disk while plugged into mains power? Maybe the batteries couldn't handle the load??

hi!
check the pins inside, maybe one or more pins is bend and the cf card does not fit properly.
hope this helps!
