Well, if nothing else, I am tenacious. After probably 38-45 hours of working with this machine I am up and running "ok".

I had to do stuff I don't like to do, like uninstall programs on my computer to start over with reg #'s to the extent I had to get into my computer registry. I have all the programs I want running fine.

Here is a note....and I am sure of this thur specific trials, palm programs that are on the essentials cd only want to run on the palm. not the sc card. They will run there, but the sync goes to a soft reset. This is true of the games on the cd, the documents, spreadsheet programs. Yes, they will run on the sd but cause a problem in sync. I have chosen carefully the programs I want. I also notice that there is not as much space available on the palm and probably because of the recorder and the potential space it will require, along with all of the other little proprietory programs that palm wants on there.

Anyway, all is fine, but it took ALOT of work and I really prefer not to mess with registry........but did.

Did you send your tungsten back? I really hate to have to exchange stuff so I am glad I got it working to my satisfaction. I will stay away from programs (in the future) that I am sure don't work on tungsten.

I found ONE case here in San Antonio, at Office Depot, and only one office Depot had it and only had ONE. I pick it up today. I do like the resolution of the tungsten and will stay away from hacks for now and programs such as silverscreen and launcer. At least until I have recovered from the last couple of days.

let me know what you did

this took several, and I mean more than several attempts at resets (soft, warm, hard), reformatting the sc card, etc.

I am so glad you got it all working. I'm going to miss all the wonderful features on the TT.

I gave up after typing in a long document in Docs to go on the work 515 and beaming it to the TT and getting the error message about not having closed the last document. The TT did a reset and I lost the document. I don't know how I did it, but I managed to loose the doc off the 515 also. I was not happy. I think if I had been running all TT's I'd been ok, but I use a 515 at work, hubby has a 515 and 130 at home. It gets too complicated. That's why I gave up on using outlook too. I am FORCED to also use an iPaq at work, and trying to keep the palms and iPaq straight was getting to be more hassle then it was worth. I need to keep all my personal stuff off the iPaq since I use that for training. Yep, I'm a palm user in an iPaq supported environment and I have to do training on the iPaq. I'll try the TT again this summer when I have more time to play and figure it all out. Maybe by then I can convince hubby to go TT also and make things less complicated. I just don't have the time to spend right now.

WHEW! You are all over the place and need some stability. I have only me....except now hubby will get my brand new 515. I don't like that Tungsten wants (prefers) Palm applicatoins on palm and not flexible to the sd card, but I'll live with it. For the moment, all is well. Like I said, the secret for now may be "keep it simple". I spent too much time getting up and running satisfactorily.

I decided not to install documents, etc and will give the pda a chance to "adjust"....actually "me"

Keep me posted as to what happens.
