my 2610 didn't route

hi all,
I really enjoy using my Garmin 2610 with N. American v6. However , past weekend the unit did not work at all for a specific route i had charted out from my pc.

I had only 2 routes in my route list. The first got me to the meeting place fine, but the second more important route was nulll even though it showed up in the route list.

I had included all the waypoints, created a route as per normal for both from my pc.

So as per normal, i start the drive and choose to activate the route from my "route list" and nothing, i mean nothing.. :-(

then when i was actually en route for that specific drive thanks to my friend, i noticed all my waypoints were visible but no audio prompts, no automatic routing as per normal ..

also, the directional arrow was pointing in the opposite direction as my waypoints..

oh was i ever upset..

what could have happenend ? Another garmin 2610 user suspects that the "sent" map from my pc did not go through ? But i've sent hundreds and its always been fine..

this one really has me scratching my head over it.. So much so, that i'm going to add a few more waypoints to the map, re-send it and then see if it will chart and route ?

any suggestions on what might have gone wrong ?

anyone have a similar experience ? If so, how did you rectify it ?

any quick fixes or solutions i could have done other than a few power cycles which i did to no avail ?

after some troubleshooting, upon boot up , i did not see my areas map appear on the blue screen. It must have gotten deleted some how. So i quickly went to map info and noticed it was not there either.

I'm quickly re-installing the maps and ensuring that they are "enabled" in the map info category, and hopefully that 'll be the fix.

I don'tknow of any specific forum for the street pilot series, but there are many entries regarding those on usenet group sci.geo.satellite-nav. Use groups.google.com
