Ped 11-24-2002, 03:37 PM I have a similar problem with my Psion 7 I just recently aquired a IBM 1Gb micro disc put it in and was suprised to see it register as "2Gb" though memory used and available add up to 1Gb I think as it is in Kbs. Maybe Psions mathmatician had an off day and the computers cant add up? I have found a few anomolies that I could gripe about but after two years it has become a habit I get withdrawl symptoms when I am away from it too long! diem 11-25-2002, 04:57 AM is the card new, blank, off-the-shelf, or has it been formatted in the Psion? Ped 11-25-2002, 07:12 AM It was new and unformated by my psion I might find time one day soon after I set up my new PC to transfer all content to a file on the PC and format it. I have some large map files on there so it will take a while. Ped diem 11-25-2002, 07:42 AM yeah - if the card is not Psion-formatted then all bets are off. It'd be a good opportunity to get that card backed up too eh? Ped 11-25-2002, 10:02 AM Hi backing up is not a problem I do that regularly as that takes ages as well. This I found out after adding half a dozen routplaner and city maps in high resalution then decided to backup. I was used to a 64k CF disc only half full. this is all part of the joys of life. diem 11-25-2002, 10:11 AM Originally posted by diem is the card new, blank, off-the-shelf, or has it been formatted in the Psion? ET3D - this question is also for you! :p markdeppe 11-25-2002, 03:58 PM Ped: Have you tried using a CF card reader (they are quite cheap) and make backups pretty quick, I think there might even be firwire and USB2 versions now Ped 12-07-2002, 10:35 AM OK having done a compleat backup on my new PC "whilst doing several other jobs" I formated my IBM micro drive and I still get told there is 2 GB on it from the system screen information but when I go to the d drive it tells me there is 1 GB. I then had to suffer replacing all to the drive this was a marathon as the PC and Psion kept disconecting! I had noticed this hapening when transfering large maps from Route planer. It goes OK for so long then starts playing up. I checked fully all conection details to make sure they matched. It seems to be linked with time because I left it for the night and went back to it the following morning and started restoring file by file and after so long it started doing the same. Any one else experienced this sort of thing with the IBM drive? or is it that I just like to be different! PDA Street
