Okay guys... last chance... since I got rid of my NR-70 I have two accessories that I no longer need. Both are only 2 months old.

Brando OEM leather case (originally $32 plus shipping from Hong Kong) http://shop.brando.com.hk/oemnr70vcase.php

Belkin USB Sync/Charger cable NR or T series compatible (orginally $19.95)

$25 or best offer for both... will ship ground or USPS in US at no additional cost.

StormBringer,

I just wanted to ask you a question if you don't mind. I have been thinking about buying a NR-70 and was just wondering why you sold yours? If you don't mind saying. Where there things that you did not like? If you don't feel like answering that is alright, I just was wanting some input as to what you thought of yours.

Thanks & have a nice day,
Calvados

After 2 months of trouble free use it developed the dreaded Memory Stick problems. With the MS inserted I could not use the keypad, occassionally the Clie would not recognize the MS. I would eject and reinsert and sometimes it recognized the MS, other times I would have to do a reset for the MS to be recognized. I read the multiple postings on the board where some had returned a few NR-70 or NR-70V's for the same problem and where they were having to send it off to Sony to fix. So I used my Fry's 2 year replacement warranty that I purchased with the Clie and exchanged it for one of the new Compaq iPAQ 3955 with the 400mhz X-Scale processors and 64MB RAM. Only about $100 difference.

I originally started in the PDA's with the Windows CE devices... Casiopeia A-11 and an E-10 and also an IBM z50 Workpad. All were good devices but after using Microsoft powered devices I tried a Palm m100 and liked it so when the Palm m505 came out I got one of those... after one year the battery went south and Palm replaced with a refurb... almost turned it into a paperweight with the Palm OS 4.1 flash update... and then the Sony Clie NR series came out and I was really impressed so as soon as they hit the shelves I bought one. I loved the swivel screen and the hi-res display and the simplicity of the Palm OS and also the miserly memory control. The Microsoft OS devices are memory hogs... that's why you see them with loads of ram. I almost bought a Jornada or a Compaq when I was looking at the Clie... so making the switch to the Compaq wasn't too hard of a choice. Also with the CF sleeve that I purchased I have a lot more choices on accessories... Bluetooth, 802.11 wireless, extra memory (bought 2 - 128MB CF cards and a 256MB CF card... cheaper than the memory sticks).

Sorry about the length of the post... but you asked.

BTW - I'm very pleased with the 3955. The 3975 has built in Bluetooth but for $100 more I couldn't justify it now. I think I will get more use out of a 802.11 card.

Thank you very much, the length of the post did not bother me, I like the details of knowing why. I think for the moment having heard the problems that exist I will wait and wee what is coming.

Again thank you very much & have a good day,
Calvados
