Is there a way to take the text on my windows clipboard and send it to my Palm as a memo?

This would be perfect for when I need an email, article, document, etc. on the go. I'm looking to be able to do this with a system wide shortcut like (Ctrl-Win-C).

In absence of a single utility that does this, anyone know of pieces and parts that could be strung together to get this. (I already have a clipboard dump, and system-wide shortcut program).

Thanks,
Matt

Maybe I am missing what you are looking for, but here goes an attempt to help you. If you have something in your Windows clipboard if you open your Palm Desktop & paste it in a memo, then when you sync you will send it to the Palm.

If you are looking for a way to do it directly without passing by the Palm Desktop, I don't know of a way to do that, but I am sure if it is possible someone on this board will have the answer.

This is a utility I expected someone would have made long ago.

The best implementation of the idea would be this:
- A utility that runs on the task bar that would "listen" for a keyboard shortcut.
- Upon activation, it would take the clipboard contents (if it's text), translate it to the palm memo or palm doc format.
- If the "instant-sync" option is turned on, the result would be synced immediately with the palm (just like envicon pilot-install (http://pinstall.envicon.de/e/pinstall/pinstall.html)).
- If the "instant-sync" option is turned off, the result would queued for the next sync.

The key to this idea:
- Single action. Whether that's a keyboard shortcut (my preference), or a double click on an system tray icon. With an "instant-sync" option, it would make sending something to your palm brainless.

Future enhancements could include:
- Picture to Palm. Any image data captured on the clipboard would be shrunk, compressed, and synced (with a bevy of options)
- More smarts: names and phone numbers, web links, email addresses could be automatically detected and added somewhere appropriate.
- Beam to palm via infrared port.

I, and I'm sure many others would pay up to $15 (USD) for something like this. Any developers listening?

OK, I see what you were looking for and yes to me that would be a good idea. Would somewhat cut out the "middleman" & could be very useful. I defintely am not "tech" enough to help with this but would like to see such a product and try it's usefulness.

Have good day,
