Clicking on "saved routes" on my IQue 3600, I receive (every time) the following error message:

"utl_assert.c, Line:382,
Assert failed at \udb_srte.c
: 3973 in UI Thread"

The only thing I can then do is push a reset button that is displayed below the message.
The error message occured for the first time when erasing a "faulty" route, which was wrongly displayed on the map. Thus there was something wrong before.

But anyway, I tried to so a hard reset (Power on button pushed when resetting), answered "yes" to erase everything, but the error remains.

Having a look at the hot sync, I noticed that I cannot access the routes from Palm Desktop. Any hints? Many thanks in advance!

Hi,

I've had this error too (once). The only way to get rid of it, is to use Garmin's NonVolUtil.PRC to erase (parts of) the iQue's non-volatile memory.

Instead of asking Garmin, you might want to download it here (http://homepage.hispeed.ch/smilespergallon/nonvolutil.html).

I think it is sufficient to delete the "UDB Saved Routes" in the list shown by NonVolUtil. The bad news is that all your routes will be gone.

Good luck,
HighFive

Thanks a lot, I will have a try!

But where are my routes are backed up? I thought there might some place on my laptop which is updated during hotsync. I downloaded Track Conduit for example to back up the tracks. Is there any known solution for the rest of the data (waypoints etc.)?

Unfortunately, when I start NonVolUtil, I get the following message:

"NonVolUtil.cpp, Line:546,
Canīt open NonVolLib"

Then I have to reset. Any hints?
