The Motorola T720 does not auto switch from low speed to high speed as it should (14.4 to 114,200 or 230,400).
It is always on 14.4/19.2. So if you are on a high speed data network like Verizons
Express Network you will have to do the following:
1) creatre a new connection at 19.2 then go to advanced and check the 1st and third boxes on the bottom half of the page.
2) Then click ok next and finish.
3) try to connect and you will be put into terminal mode. Tap hide and type the AT commad atipr=115,200. This will change the speed of the phone to 115,200 and will reamin this way until the phone is powered off.
4) set up a second connection as you would normally with the speed of th econnection on the PDA at 115,200 with normal Express Network username and password. The phone will now communicate at 115,200bps.
Hopefully Motorola will change the software so th ephone will autosense the data speed as it does with other models.
