Since I performed a hard reset on my iQue 3600, I cannot seem to use SheetToGo. I can access the Documents application as well as WordToGo perfectly fine, but every time I attempt to launch SheetToGo, it causes the unit to soft reset itself. Same thing if I try to create a new document and select SheetToGo as the document type.

I've tried removing it from the unit and re-installing it from the PRC files in the Palm Desktop data directory - didn't help.

Any ideas?

epp_b,

Try opening the desktop component of Docs to Go on your PC and select tools/re-install handheld applications. Deselect everything except Sheet to Go, then hotsync. If this doesn't work, you may want to uninstall and re-install all of DTG, making sure you have the sheet to go component selected for installation.

I don't use the desktop component, I just have the Palm end of things that comes bundled with the unit.

Anyway, out of pure curiosity, I completely removed DocsToGo, WordToGo, and SheetToGo from the unit, and re-installed the PRCs from the CD. It seems to have worked.

epp_b,

It sounds like you are using the "trial version" of those programs if you loaded them off the CD that comes with your unit. That may explain why they quit working, since they may have a built-in expiration (of the trial). The current version of Documents to Go is version 7, and there is most likely an updated trial version on the Dataviz website (full screen implemented, but not rotation), and/or special pricing for new Garmin customers if you may wish to purchase a registered version.

No offense, but your logic is somewhat flawed. The "trial version" you speak of is only the desktop end of DataViz. The Palm applications themselves are not limited, because most people find it pretty useless if they cannot synchronize it with thier desktop, which is why DataViz only limits the desktop application.

Secondly, if the Palm applications were limited, surely they would be programmed proficiently enough to display an expiration notice and not just perform a reset the unit (besides, WordToGo was still working anyway).

I'm not sure what the exact problem was, but I am sure it had something to do with the hard reset. I hard reset it once more after completely deleting the DataViz applications, and everything works now.
