Hi,

I got a bluetooth keyboard for my IPAQ 5450 - neat gadget. I seem to have a problem with ampersands (&s) appearing in front of menu items in my PDA software even when the keyboard is not connected.

Worse than that - they multiply each time I access the drop down menu. Eventually I end up with menu items that look daft, &&&&&About, &&&&&&Settings etc.

I think this is something to do with the bluetooth keyboard software putting an ampersand to give me a keyboard shortcut - but it isn't very useful when the keyboard is not connected.

Has anybody else encountered this problem and has anyone got any ideas what I could do to get rid of it? I've checked the HP site for new drivers or any mention of this but couldn't find any driver later than the one I've got.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do they go away after soft-reset? Are you still running ppc2002 on this unit? The bt keyboard driver may be designed for ppc2003 and higher.

Hi,

Yes, they go away if I explicitly close the application or with a soft-reset. In fact, once I have about three ampersands displayed in front of the menu options, I seem to need to close the application in order to be able to actually select the option.

I am running PPC2003 so I think the driver is the right one.
