I love the Garmin M3 Ique and am glad I bought it. When I plug it in the cradle with the 12V on in the car it makes a high pitched oscillating sound. It doesn't do that if I shut off the 12V nor while its hooked up to my home computer.

I bought noise filter at Radio shack and hooked up a dedicated Aux 12V source and it still does the same thing.

I e-mailed Garmin tech support and will post their reply. Anyone else have this problem? The sound comes from the M3, but could the cradle/12V plug be causing it? I would hate to have to send the unit back already when I am just getting use to it

I have a similar issue with my iQue 3600. My A/C adapter/charger makes a low whirring/buzzing noise when it is plugged in. If I have the other end plugged into the iQue or the cradle, it's quieter.

It doesn't really bother me too much - I just unplug it when I'm not using it. And when I am, it's not loud enough for me to hear it while sitting at my desk.

I say wait to see what Garmin says.

I talked to Garmin and they are going to send me out another holder/12V adapter. I'll see if that fixes it.

Is the noise coming from the speaker in the 12volt adapter or from the M3 itself? I have the M5 and once when using a rental car I got some interference noise in the speaker of the 12volt adapter/cable/cradle. But that was the only time. BTW, the rental was a Ford Explorer. My current vehicle is a Ford E-250 Van and I am getting no noise, so its not a "Ford" thing.
