Hello,
I now bought this card (http://cgi.ebay.de/FSC-Connect2Air-Orinoco-gold-11MB-WEP128_W0QQitemZ5812176424QQcategoryZ47812QQrdZ1QQ cmdZViewItem) [which should work with a Hermes (I ?) chip and 16-bit...]. Since the seller is habited near to my home I wanted to visit him, to try out this card.
Now my question: Is it possible to see if the card works immediately after having put it into the netBook (without needing to test the card with WiFi)?
If so, with what application? NetStatRF?

Thanks in Advance, Jonas!

No, you need to configure it 1st in the Ethernet part of the Control Panel. Then you need to try to connect to a known WiFi network (or unknown as long as it broadcasts it's SSID). At that point you could probably use NetStatRF to see if the card is working, even if you haven't got all the settings required to fully connect to the WiFi network.

All in all, I think it would be better to just check that the make & model of WiFi card matches one that is known to work well. Also make sure that it is NOT CardBus (32-bit).

Yes, the card fully works, even with WEP.
But it runs better than my PC with WLAN. Since changing from WPA to WEP it doesn't get a gateway anymore. I also tried entering it manually, but no chance :(
I heard something about problems when one card is at 11 Mbp/s and the other wants more (?)...
I had a dream...

Silly me, I entered a false password on my PC :D
Now I only need to check why the Psion doesnt get his gateways :)

I had a dream... and it came true :)
I only needed to uncheck IEE encapsulation and all works fine :)
