After hours trying to get my Netbook up and running again I nearly gave up, finally I found the messages posted here. I have purchased a Netbook via EZgallery (EBay UK) and know have the problem of no operating system at all. I made the mistake of deleting the original one from the cf card, and then took out all the power trying to delete a program I no longer needed.
Does anyone know where I can get the original OS supplied or can someone send/email it to me. The version I need is;
Version1.05 (281) English (UK) - ASCII (Release 158)

Please, please please someone help me.

PS Will I need to buy the S7 to Netbook rom upgrade to use the newer OS's????????

I've asked Calbrit, another user who bought the same machine as you, to check out this thread.

Regarding your second question, yes, you will need the netBook personality module if you wish to install another version of the OS :(

There is some theoretical talk of finding out how the bootstrap in your machine identifies the version of the OS.img file on the CF card, but no answers on this one yet.

Thanks,I'll keep a look out. I'm rather stuck without the OS.
With regards to the ROM chip maybe there is a flash program available from Psion that would change things with regards to the boot problem.

Sorry to bring even more bad news, but it seems like the netBook modules are no longer available. Expansys are showing them as discontinued, and I have spoken today with Ewan Spence who tells me the definitely do not excpect to receive further stock at POS.

Since we seem to think that this would be a solution to the "Malaysian" netBook problem, it might be an idea to snap one up if you can find one on eBay perhaps. I've seen one or two advertised there, though not just at the moment, it seems.

This is certainly an "in demand" item, so I'm sure you could easily resell it if your are able to resolve the situation by some other method.

Hadn't come across this article before - it appears to confirm that the Malaysian netBooks do have wireless networking capability:
