can i use hp deskjet 720c

hello all
i have just bought the above printer from boot sale and am trying to connect it to ser 3 mach
i have the parallel 3 link printer cable
but when i try to print the comp says printing but nothing prints
i suspect it could be the driver
so i went to hp site and there was lots of drivers to download from xp back to windows 3.1
i dont know which one i should download so i tried one for xp but there was about 3 disk with diff things in
now totally confused
any help please

Hi Doug.,

The 3a/c/mx have built-in printer drivers for several printers including HP models. As HP printers certainly were backwards compatible they should work. In any appropriate application, use “Print setup” from the “Menu”. To preview properly, use one of the LaserJet drivers (which will probably be OK for printing). The system “Menu - Control - Printer” sets general parameters, port, units, etc..
