Hi,

I've created the needed folder under /programs/ and /windows. How do I move the files (one visualComPort.dll and one cab file plus the GPSproxy program to their respective folders on the pDA from the PC? I guess some have to be installed and some could be moved

PS That was easily done via PC>My computer>Mobile Device. Files could be copied pasted. The next problem is to decide where files in a cab file go after extraction.

If the cab file is a cab installer, just copy the cab file as is to a folder on the ppc using the same method you used, Open file explorer on the ppc, browse to where you put it and click on the cab file to install.

Where do the extracted files go? Do I get an option to chose where? I'm having problems with a cab file containg files from the NET compact framework 1.0 Servicepack.

Does cab filer extraction imply installation implying registry modifications, or can one simply manually copy them to their respective folders afteextraction?

If the cab installer is created properly, it will behave like any regular installer on the desktop, it will create directory, copy files, create registry keys, create shortcuts and create uninstall option.

Thanks AnswerDude, the problem was elsewhere, i.e. a mix up of which files were are needed for GPSproxy added to my lack of knowledge of how PPC works. It's all well and installed now.
