I've just upgraded to an ipaq rx1950 running Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0.
I need to use visual basic to run a program which previously worked on my ipaq 1910.
I've tried to load visual basic from,
http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility/windowsmobile/downloads/evb.aspx
but can't load it up.
Am I being stupid, or what?
Thanks

With WM 5.0, MS officially ends support for eMbedded Visual Basic. You may have to contact developer for WM 5.0 compatible version. What is this application by the way? And how did you load the runtime?

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I extracted the zip file, and placed it in a folder in the ipaq. On looking at the folder in file explorer, there are no cab or exe files.
Is there another way?
The application that I need to run is a logbook program.
Thanks

I have been stupid.
I extracted it before transferring it to the ppc.
Its now installed. but when starting the app, an application error occurs, and it says,
An error was encountered while running this program: Object required 'connDatabase'
What nex?

If i remember it correctly, the file ms provides is not a zip file, it's already a CAB file installer, save it as is to the desktop, do not uncompress it, do not rename it, do not run it on the desktop with winzip or other uncompress utility. The file should be filename.cab, copy the cab file as is to a folder on the iPAQ, open file explorer on the iPAQ, browse to the cab file and click it to install.
