IIIC sound

My faithful IIIC is showing signs of old age...

First the power button is breaking, which I can live with by powering up using the other buttons (but no changing backlight intensity now)

The prob is now the sound is gone too. First it was getting soft, then it doesnt emit the high-pitch sounds, now nothing. No alarm sounds, no hot-sync sound, no game sounds :(

Any ideas what I can do to stop living in silence?

Sounds like the solder joint to the piezo speaker broke. It's not still under warranty, is it? Are you brave enough to open it up and check? Also check the connection to the motherboard.

Maybe wishful thinking, but was hoping if there is some prog similar to Digifix for sound.

I'm ok with opening it and checking for loose connections, but not to having to solder the joints back together. :eek:
