I have a question regarding application compatibility:
Would running ChaDis by Kevin Millican create conflicts with Merlin and StickyKeys - the two programs that are always open on my Mako? I am curious to take the plunge into ChaDis because it is my impression that each of the three apps pull data from the system. It seems like that could cause possibility of confusion, or do separate threads take care of these?
Hopefully this makes sense. Any information would be appreciated.
I have no first hand experience (I don't even own a Revo!), but I would say that these applications should run okay side-by-side. EPOC is a multitasking OS, and should be capable of handling the relatively small requirements of these programs.

I agree with Yan that I can't see any problem with these apps running simultaneously - I certainly never heard anyone report any difficulty.
I have however passed on the query to Kevin Millican, and will let you know his reponse.

Here is the reply from Kevin Millican:
"Very unlikely that ChaDis could clash with either program since it doesn't grab any keypress or pen events while in the background. For 99%+ of the time, ChaDis is doing nothing but waiting for its next read."
Thanks to Kevin for his quick response, and hope that helps you Brian.

I used ChaDis and Stickykeys at the same time and there was never an issue. Not sure about Merlin though.

Thanks to each of you for providing information. Each of you confirmed my initial thoughts.
I will download and install it. If there are conflicts (which I strongly doubt that there will be), I will post them.
Thanks for all the help.

The only issue I can see from these applications is that of Hot Keys. These are set of keys that the application reads to carry out a task (such as run a macro). If these sets of keys conflict then one application will likely not work correctly. However, reading system information is very well controlled by EPOC.

Thanks beakynet. I considered this and that is one of the many reasons that Merlin ( www.neuon.com ) is my choice of macro launchers. It is a very sophisticated program that relies on drop down list boxes that are assigned to user defined buttons on a collapseable toolbar - truly one of 4-5 wonderful EPOC apps available. The only hot keys assignable to Merlin are those to bring other toolbars into the foreground.
Thanks for the information.
