The contacts application is missing from the system/applications/contacts folder. Could someone please tell me where to download this program or send a copy of the contacts folder to me.

I'm somewhat bewildered by this. Assuming we ARE talking Revo or Mako here, the Contacts application can't be "missing". It's resident in the ROM of the machine, and should be able to be launched from the silk screen Contacts icon.

If you have somehow managed to delete the "Contacts.ini" file within the Contacts folder, then this would be recreated when you launch the app.

Can you explain the problem a bit more precisely, please?

The contacts application is missing from the system/applications/contacts folder Which of these folders?

The application is in ROM:

Z:\System\Apps\Contacts\

only the .INI file is in:

C:\System\Apps\Contacts\

When I click on the screen "Contacts" icon, the unit opens the initial contacts screen, beeps, then reboots. When I click on the "contacts.ini" file in C:\system\apps\contacts, a message is displayed in the top right corner of the screen that says "Cannot find program". Any explanations or suggestions?

In the ROM folder z:\system\apps\contacts there are 4 files: contacts.aif, contacts.app, contacts.mbm & contacts.RSC. Thanks, hope this helps.

In C:/System/Apps/Contacts the only file you should find is Contacts.ini. This is the preference file for Contacts.

The location of the data that is actually stored in Contacts in is C:/System/Data and is titled something like Contacts.dbf.

The actual program is stored in ROM (z drive) and can't be deleted.

As for solving the problem, it sounds as if some of the data has become corrupted. Try the following:

1. Delete the .ini file. Contacts will recreate it and you will have to reset your preferences.
2. Try moving the data file (contacts.dbf). If data is corrupt, then this is more than likely where it is. Hopefully you have a backup in case this is the problem and needs to be deleted. Also, you might try looking in Phone first to see if you can jot down the contacts info from there in case you do need to delete contacts.dbf.

Try these for a start.

Thanks Brian! Your second solution was the one that worked. I moved the contacts.cdb file from c:\system\data, restarted the unit, then opened the program from the silk icon and it worked! YEAH! I have been trying to figure this out for over 2 months and finally found this message board last night with a search thru Google. Psion was of no help due to their restructuring. Once again, I am a happy psion user.
