Hi,

first post on here. Could do with a little help.

I got p910i yesterday and love it. I only have 1 problem with it:

Where I work it is virtually impossible to install new items of software as we have a particularly unhelpful IT dept. I didn't think about this before I got the p910i, but it now means I can't install the SE p910i suite that would allow me to synch my p910i with Outlook.

We do however have ActiveSync installed on our machines, as well as software to synch PalmOS devices.

So, does anyone know of any way that I can synch the p910i using activesync or Palm software, or any other way of doing it without installing new software onto the PC.

Are there any pieces of software out there that I can install on the p910i that would fool activesync into thinking it was synching a windows phone?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Tris

I had the same problem, and i called the hot line and they walked me through it. first you have to shut off you fire wall by going into the start menu,to control panel, security center, windows fire wall hit off, Next find you anti virus program and shut it off for a short time. this will allow you to syc. good luck

It depends on how your Activesync is set-up. If it is set to synchronise directly to the server, then you can use a piece of software called Roadsync to directly synchronise the P910 with Exchenge. If however you are synchronising with Outlook then I don't think there's a lot you can do other than persuade IT to allow the installation of PC Suite.

If you have a PC at home then you could get around it by saving your Outlook to a PST, then attaching that to Outlook on you home PC and synchronising there. Not too easy though.
