Jornada 720 CF Problem

:confused: :confused: Hi Folks
I have a much loved HP Jornada 720 which has a 1.0 GB CF card in the bottom CF slot (the one with the little door over it)...problem is, suddenly stopped recognising any CF card in that slot (fine using PCMCIA slot with adapter)...it asks for drivers now...have reformatted/cold started...all no good is this just broken or is there a software workaround or something
I can still use the PC card slot, but whats all this asking for drivers in the other slot all about....any ideas

Have you tried soft reset the unit while keeping the card in that slot?

Hi Mangizmo:

This is a well known problem with well used and pin-socket CF cards. Your going to have to replace the card. For a temp fix, take a matchbook cover, fold it in half and cut to 3/4" wide and place it on top of the card at the card's center; then insert both CF and matchbook together. The CF Card should then be recognized and its driver(s) loaded during initialization.
