Re-using iPAQ id

Having been forced to hard reset my iPAQ 3850, how can I force my PC to allow me to reset the previous name for the "new" relationship it demands?

You need to delet the old partnership on the desktop activesync. Then change the device name on you iPAQ to the name you want. Once you sync again it should work.
