Go with the 400. The cradle is 40 bucks by itself and does not come with the 300. I also read that a newer OS will require more Flash RAM. So to be safe, the 400 is also better in this area since it has 48. As for performance, I would also go with the higher model, especially since a majority of the software can only be emulated, which means slower initial performance for the XScale.

Thanks Dude. I heard about this deal but I don't have one near me so i'm going to call dell.
Maybe you are having a Dell-Kiosk in your neighbourhood?
If so go and have a look there, as they are currently offering an extra $
50-rebate. So the 400MHz unit would be only $249,- (after two $50-rebates).
Have a look at
http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com
for more information about that deal.

Second $50 rebate was a mistake -- "only on sales of over $500" now...

Thanks Dude glade I diden't call them yet.
Ps: I think that by the time the 300mhz won't run stuff there will be a new PDA with a harddrive and more like a notebook so I'm going for the $199 one, I don't think my palm will sell for that much on ebay. THanks Dman

Within a year or sooner there will be a non-expandible Pocket PC for $99 to compete against the Palm's $99 model. It will be about the size of the Palm Vx....but weigh less. The problem is the software...it will be very basic...depending on what Microsoft will charge the OEM.

I bought (and received yesterday) the 300MHz with 32MB RAM/32MB ROM. You can get a SanDisk 128MB Secure Digital card for $52.77 at amazon.com, which won't take your CF slot, and spend another $70 to get a DLink DCF-660W to make it Wireless, hence all in all you get a Wireless PocketPC with 32MB ROM + 32MB RAM + 128MB for applications for circa $320 (computing the $50 rebate) - I think this is good value for money given what's available in the market today.
