Crashing of PDA Dell Axim x50v touch screen

I have a new Dell Axim x50v, 2 months old, and the touch screen has crashed without any raison (apparently).
I asked Dell for the guarantie, but this problem isn't under their guarantee. They send me a budget for 377 euros for repairing it. Crazy! Even they said me that it was better for me to buy a new one. If I must do that, of couse, it won't be a Dell.
Do someone know were to repair this machine or where to buy a touch screen?
Could it be easy to change by myself?

Maybe you know this but if you have a screen saver on it remove it and see if it works. Have an older dell and the saver can do weird things to the operation.
