How to Hotsync from Desktop software (no screen)

trying to find a way to hotsync with my Palm Tungsten E that has a broken screen. There has to be a short cut from the desktop side to initiate the sync>?

No there doesn't. Since it's a comm port the pc will look from a signal from the device or a corresponding cable with a button to initiate. The PC can not initiate a USB device to "activate" if it doesn't want to.


But I might have a work around:

Assuming that you are using the default Palm Launcher that came on the E. Hit the home button, then graffiti an H -followed by a push of the center d-pad. This should bring up the Hot Sync program - even if you can't see it. Then tap on the center of the broken screen and hope for the best.....be connected of course when you perform the above.

Unfortunately, a cracked screen could also mean a non-working digitizer. If you have a cradle with a hotsync button, that would work.
