Hey!

I was wondering if the rumors about a soon 1-GB Memory stick coming out soon were true. If so, how much will it cost? Other info? THANKS!

I think(in my little world) that the 1 gig will probably be out in about 6 months. The 256mb should be anytime, and the 512mb will be after that, and then: 1gig. Personally I just want a 512, but that's me. Cheers

6 months sounds about right.

Does anyone have a guess as to the cost of a 1-Gig Mem-Stick?

Yeah, well, I'm thinking it will be about that. I got a 16 mb for 15 dollars, just about 1mb=1$. 128mb go for about 50 dollars, about 2mb=1$, keep going at this rate and it will probably be about that much. I can't wait for it though. You could carry a movie, all your mp3s(well, not all mine;) ) and as many databases and programs as you wanted without really worrying about memory. Ahhhhhh.....

True, maybe that's why sony added compact flash to their nx70(v)? They new they weren't going to have enough memory for their highly capable products to thrive on, so they added cf. Isn't a 1 gig cf card going to be a cf type 2 though? If that's the case, it will not work with the nx70. On the other hand, having the cf card gives you a cheaper bluetooth option, a lot of extra storage, and not really that much size added on. Cheers

Personally, I wish the SJ20 had SD/MMC or CF, because I like those more than memory sticks, plus my camera uses CF. I'm getting an SJ20 anyway...Memory Stick isn't THAT bad.

It is to bad that sony didn't let other manufacturars make memory stick sooner, because I think they will have to come out with hiher capacity very soon very quickly or dump it. On the other hand, memory stick is not to big, and really isn't that bad.

Where I live, it's about $150 extra. For that price, I could get an extra m500 or something...I'm sticking B/W for my next PDA (after dead Visor Original)

I had a psycho (SP?) dream that the SJ20 was from Apple, and it could use SD/MMC or CF or Memory Stick, because it had a gay apple adapter. That would have been cool (except the Apple part...)

yeah i hear that- windows all the way, here in nj it was only an extra $50 for the sj30- but then again any screen is better than the t415

I think that the t415 is an interesting idea, monochrome instead of greyscale, but then again: WHY? Better in the dark, well, yes, but other than that? Personally I love color, and will NEVER go back to greyscale or the equivalent, but then again, some people don't know how many things they can use their pda for, and only use datebook, address book, etc., poor clueless fools...

well monochrome and greyscale models have some advantages... longer battery life

It would just be COOL to have a 1Gig Memory Stick, because you just wouldn't run out of space. Of course, an SD 1Gig would be cooler, because it's smaller...but Hey, the memory stick IS harder to loose!
