Does anyone know how to create email distribution lists on the the blackberry? I have several that I use a great deal on my PC that, without them, really limit my email efficiency on the blackberry. I use a 5810.

You cannot sync Outlook personal distribution lists to the BlackBerry because they are just pointers. You have 2 options:
1) make the distribution list on the Exchange server, this way it has an SMTP address and will work with the BlackBerry
2) upgrade to 3.5 software. This allows you to make "groups" on the BlackBerry, which are identical to Outlook distribution lists.

hope this helps

I'm not using the bb server sw. I use the desktop redirector to get my company email. Does the 3.5 upgrade option still apply? If so, what is it?

thanks,

It applies to all 800 and 900 series devices. Now I noticed you have a 5810, this upgrade is available very soon. They basically tested it out on the older devices, and it will be added shortly to the newer ones.

P.S. You don't need the BES to do this. It works on desktop redirector.

So, I can use it with redirector but need to wait on a sw upate for my desktop sw that will allow me to sync/transfer/setup group lists on my 5810? I'm with T-Mobile so not sure when they will release it.

thanks

Randy - here is what I do to use my distribution lists.

1) From your computer, initiate an email to your list. When you type in the name of your list it should be recognized by Outlook.

2) Right click on the list (after it is recognized) and select "add to contacts".

3) Synch your blackberry. now you have a contact that is your distribution list

4) Just use your blackberry to send a list to that contact.

Works like a charm.
