Hi,
I have been trying to move the data from a "Template" File to "File Explorer (My Documents)".
Have made a new folder in "My Documents" and tried to copy/paste it in.
I have named the new folder in File Explorer. It has the regular window with the keyboard on the bottom but there is no curser and the keyboard does not enter anything.
What am I doing wrong??
I'm using the iPAQ 3630 -OS 3.0
I you have any suggestion I will appreciate it very much. Thanks, Ann

Hi Ann
What exactly are you trying to do? In the first part iof your post, it sounds like you are trying to copy one file from oner place to another; in the second part, it sounds like you are trying to enter text directly into a folder.
To copy a file from one place to another, tpa and hold your stylus on the file you want to copy and select "Copy" from the popup menu that will appear after a short time, navigate to where you want to copy the file, tap and hold your stylus anywhere in that window and selecty the "Paste" option from the popup menu. A copy of your file will appear in the new location.
You cannot enter text directly into a folder; you need to create a file first. So, from the Today screen, select "New" znd choose "Note" of "Word Document" to create a file where you can enter text. The file will be created in "My Documents".
Hope that helps
Patrick

good post, 106112909 :)
On a side note, once the file has been created in the my documents folder you can move it by taping and holding and selecting cut, navigate to the folder and tap and hold, and select paste.
Or, what I usually do becuase its slightly faster, is use keyboard shortcuts.
Ctrl + a (select all)
ctrl + b (bold)
ctrl + c (copy)
ctrl + I (italic)
ctrl + n (new)
ctrl + o (open)
ctrl + s (save)
ctrl + v (paste)
ctrl + x (cut)
ctrl + y (redo an undo)
ctrl + z (undo)
THese are just like in windows. Pocket Word and Excel have a bunch more that let you center and stuff but I never memorized thoose.

Shortcuts are only really useful if you have a keyboard as you can press both keys at once; they can be quite tricky on the screen input area and also a little slower.

When you tap ctrl on your PDAs keyboard it is clored inverted and it stays that way until another key is pressed. try it.

Thank you for writing, strickjh05 and 106112909.
I have tried both....copy or cut text from one folder to another and also tried to move the whole folder from one place to another. I don't remember having this kind of problem before.
At this point I have created a word document and wanted it to show up in "File Explorer--My Documents.
Instead it ended up as one of the folders in the "Templates" Folder.
From there I can cut or copy. Then I have created a new (empty) folder in "My Documents".
When I click to open this folder it is empty with the keyboard on the bottom. Then when I tab to "paste" nothing happens and I can't even use the keyboard to enter anything into this folder.
The top of this folder on the left shows the name of the folder I have selected and "Name" on the top right corner of the screen.
Both folder names have a dropdown menu. In "Name" it's :Name,Date,Size, Type.
In the name of the folder on the upper left the dropdown menu is:
My Device, My Documents and the selected name of the file.
Anyway, for some reason I'm unable to enter any kind of text...typed or pasted.
I hope that I have made explanation reasonably clear and didn't ramble on too long.
So, I will apreciate very much any suggestions you have. Ann

Just connect the iPAQ to the desktop, make sure Activesync is running. Click Explore on desktop's Activesync window and you can now browse, copy, cut or paste same way you usually do on the desktop.
