hi,

forgive me for being a total newbie but hopefully this will be short and sweet....recently got a dell axim pda and i want to surf the web.
by xmas i will have a bluetooth dongle to link up to my own pc [while my wife uses it to surf the shops], i can then be browsing on my axim elsewhere in the house.....or so i thought.

i thought that browsing the inet on my pda would be as is on my pc's inet explorer but i am having my doubts..correct me if i'm wrong but is it so that you can only browse those sites that send content in a pda viewable format?

my main sites are, banking sites...ebay...btyahoo...cinema and some forum websites. can i still access all of these on my pda???? i'm not sure now and cannot find any help pages anywhere to enlighten me. i am aware that when i get wireless i will have to make sure i'm secure, i tried to type in my www.ebay.co.uk address whilst connected via activesync, and so far no joy. i have signed up to avantgo but they dont have the sites i want.

anyone have any words of advice???

all advice will be heeded, it may be a connection problem with the inet but avantgo seems ok but nothing else

thanks

Here's a bluetooth guide:

By the way, bluetooth has fairly limited range and much less and slower than wifi.

You can browse most sites, you just have to scroll around a bit. Certain advanced features such as advanced javascript or java are not supported on the built-in Pocket Internet Explorer. You may want to take a look at 3rd party browswers such as;
NetFront

ThunderHawk

thanks for the reply...do you know if there is a similar wifi guide so i can compare them...all i know is the wifi is faster but drains power quicker, i am wondering how much quicker the power loss is as i probably wont be far from a recharger.

again thanks, any other helpfull items will be appreciated.
