Hi folks, excellent forum. :D

I'm looking for the least expensive PDA with 802.11b wireless capability, so the least expensive combination I've found to date is an open-box Palm Zire 31 with an aftermarket 802.11b card, for a total of around $160. Please feel free to suggest better/less expensive combos as I'm new to the PDA area.

Questions:
1) If I add an 802.11b wireless card to the Zire 31, will I be able to access webpages provided that I have a web browser installed?

2) Do open-box PDAs from palmone.com normally come with the AC Adapter? The website stated that some original materials may be missing.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Unfortunately, this isn't possible on the Zire 31.

I have a Zire 31 myself and pondered this question for a while before purchasing it. I can say with fairly solid assurance that there is no wifi hardware available for the Zire 31. Its battery was never meant to handle a wifi card and there are no other wifi accessories or drivers available supporting the Zire 31.

Your next best option is probably the new Palm T|X (http://www.palm.com/us/products/handhelds/tx/) at $300 USD, which includes built-in wifi. It's been getting a lot of rave reviews and I have heard a lot of good things about it.

It should most certainly come with an A/C adapter. By materials, I'm pretty sure they're referring to the manuals and the software disc that are normally included in new units.

You can always call or email them to be sure.
