Can someone please help me? I have an Ipaq 3850. I need more memory (SD, CF ????). I looked at Compaq's page but can't figure out which to buy or are all the other brands just as good? (I'm a Tim the Toolman Copycat so fast is better). Does anyone make a dual slot that includes a memory card. May have to sell my car to buy all this stuff. I think I need the Dual Expansion slot, but Compaq or Nexian? http://www.nexian.com/product/nexipak.asp or is there another one that is better. I would like to be able to send and receive email anywhere so I suppose I need an Air Card (Wow they are expensive) Then there is the service...does anyone offer a cheap service? Also I assume all this will drain the battery and it looks like the dual slots have an extra battery. I think I'm pretty computer literate, but the Ipaq stuff has me perplexed. Lastly can I do all this reasonably or will I need an airport travel bag with wheels to carry it? Any and all information is helpful.
Thanks
Don

Check www.the-gadgeteer.com site for an article 'Cheap Wireless Modem'. Some Motorola phones can serve as wireless modems. Maybe other models. Contact tech support for your cell company.

You'll need the cord setup described in this article, or the $60 version from Motorola if you own that brand of phone. Comes w/ software for iPAQ too. Expect no better than 14.4 kbps so mainly good for email alone at a site optimized for handhelds. At Motorola's site search for 'data cable', I think.

Thanks for the reply. I had to educate myself a little. It appears that I want the SD memory because it is smaller thus allowing me to put it in my Ipaq Without an expansion slot and it is faster. That is what I was told anyway. Second since an Air Card is so expensive and I would still need the expansion slot adding more cost and on top of that the service charge, I have also been told that I can get a cable (similar to your suggestion) that will connect my Motorola V60 to my Ipaq. I have to find out from Verision what access I will have and it I will need another plan or just use my current minutes. Finally the expansion slot; this is where I need a little more help. Given the above scenerio, would I still need the expansion slot and if so do I get one without a battery, with a battery and single or dual slot?
