I want start a new project, to enhance one of my other hobbies.

I have a new camera, a Nikon D200 that excepts GPS data. I also have the G10 tied to a iPAQ 4705 running iQue.

What the camera needs is NMEA0183 hard wired. Nikon has a cable with a proprietary plug on one end and a serial on the other. The easy way is to get a Geko 301 and connect all these cables, but that is no fun.

My question, will the iPAQ output this protocol and is there a way to wire these two units?

PS I also have the BT338 and Destinator3 installed.

Hi Egmont,

It is possible by using GPSGate on your iPAQ. GPSGate can connect to your GPS 10 by selecting the right COM-port. GPSGate can transfer the NMEA-sentences to the serial-client port of your iPAQ (on my Toshiba e800 this port is called 'Serial Cable on COM 1').
You need to buy a serial client cable for your iPAQ and connect it to your Nikon serial cable.

Don't forget to set the same Baudrates on both your Nikon and within GPSGate.

Good luck!

Thanks Mapper,

Let me get the cable first and adopt it to the Nikon, then I will get the software.
