Lose Memory On Reset ?????

Can anyone explain to me why I might be losing (approximately 6k) memory after each reset of my handheld? I have a program that was obviously conflicting with something. Every time my handheld reset, I lost around 6k of memory. This is the second time this has happened (that I've noticed) with two different applications. I have a Palm IIIxe with Palm OS 3.5.3
