Just upgraded to a Tungsten E2 from a five-year old Handspring VDx, so I don't know nothin' about this whole memory card thing. Is there some particular format or type I'm supposed to look for when I'm shopping? Are they the same kind people use in digital cameras, or is it a different format?

There is a 2GB limit and no other special thing that you need to know. If it's an SD card it should work.

I would recommend that the first thing you do is put the card in the slot - this will launch the card view and then from the menu launch "Format Card". This will format the card correctly for your device. That's it.

If you plan on listening to music off of the card (which is the only way it can be done on a Palm) then I'd recommend you spring for the Ultra card or ones that are designed for cameras as they are a little faster. If you just want tons of storage - then don't go for the high end card.

J&R has this card (http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3994026) for $25 with the rebate. So is there any reason not to buy it?

Seems there can be quite a difference in pricing among manufacturers -- are there any important differences from one maker to the next? I'm probably just going to use them for music, or other data that I'll already have backed up on my PC hard drive anyway, so I guess my risk is minimal.

Thats what you want. I garantee It will work in your E2.

Good choice.

There are faster SD cards you can buy for high performance devices that need faster write and read speed but this will do just fine for any Palm or normal Digital Camera.

I don't see a "Format Card" option on the menu. Am I not seeing it, or am I missing something?
