I currently have a Palm Vx. I actually was looking at either the M505 or the M515. Whats the differance in the color Display if any ? Why would i NEED the 16 Megs internal memory of the M515, if the M505 has the expansion card slot ? I've only ever really used 5 megs of my VX's memory but I'd like to have an expansion card slot to "move" Dictionaries, Maps (maybe) and other software I'd also like to get Mapping software and GPS for it . I think the M500 is a Vx with just an expansion card slot bascially Right ? ANY HELP or COMMENTS AT ALL PLEASE !!!!

The display on the 505 is somewhat "washed out" when you first turn in on. I upgrade to a 505 from a IIIc and was very dissappointed with the screen (but you are comairing apples to oranges with the 2 screens).
Once the 515 was available, I jumped on it maily for the 16 mg of internal ram. Having the option to turn up the screen brightness was also a big plus. The 515 is brighter on the low setting (off, low, high) than the 505 with the backlight turned on.
As far as the additional ram goes, if you intend to put maps, gps or any other large files on the card they often are "moved" to the internal memory when opened the deleted when closed. So I feel that having the additional memory is well worth it.
My 515 currently has about 8.5 mg of ram free, I would have never let my 505 get that full. Having the additional ram will allow you the freedom to load software without overloading the system.
Hope this helps.

Just curious....where are you getting a 505? EBAY or some similar site? I only ask because I was under the impression that Palm stopped making the 505 in lue of the 515. I've done a direct comparison with my 515 against a fully illuminated 505. The 515's screen clarity is superior. I'm not sure what your budget may be, but perhaps even a Palm Tungsten T would be a much better option than either the 505 or 515? I myself am planning on getting one in the near future....
