Hi All

Can somebody post a link to the login page so that I can check if the new 158 update is available. I ve searched for ages but can't seem to find my way back.

I was checking for the new version last week but by mistake I deleted the link from my favorites.
:(

Many thanks Neill

It's http://partners.psionteklogix.com/pm/AuthFiles/login.asp

You then need to click on netBook under Development Kits on the left of the page and then on Downloands on the top bar.

I've just been informed that I'm not eligible to re-register for Teknet as a netBook user, and that only Psion Digital provides support.

Where does the new OS stand in all this?

You need to register for the Partner Program, not Teknet.

Thanks WolfUK, all now safely book marked.

Shame it's still ver 156, the web site says mid August for an update. 3 more days to go until September, but then again they didn't state which year......fingers tapping on desk impatiently....

They have never changed the version on the website but they have changed the version of the file. When they changed it to 158 it still said 156 (or when I checked it it did). Try downloading it and finding out what OS it really is.

I just (1. 9. 2002) downloaded netbook OS from teklogix parter program. Label says 156, but file is 158. As download of 158 was not available and now it is, I assume it is the repaired version - but - the date and the file size are the same as the "old" 158 version, which was withdrawned... I do not understand it at all :-((

Hi

Ive just tried installing the the latest psion OS.IMG file from a cold boot cf card. But I cant seem to get my Netbook to load the operating system, whilst it boots fine with previous builds. Has anybody else managed to load the lastest build from the Psion web site......(I used the above link)

Regards

Doh!!!

My mistake I had formated the CF card as FAT32, once I changed it back to FAT16 the Netbook booted fine.

Just to say that the version 156 that is on Psions web site (1/9/2002) is the latest version. E.g. It has the following, Opera 5.1 web browser, ethernet and the fixes in Agenda. It seems that this is the bug free version we have been waiting for. :D

I've just download this and it is dated April this year and looks like the old one to me - I can't be bothered to try yet - sorry - especially as the caveat message is still sitting above it on the site (maybe I'm not going to the right URL?

Hi

This is strange as all the bugs that I knew of seem to be fixed..

It also seems that nFTP that came with the original v158 is missing in this version of 158. It maybe dated April but it's not the same file.

Do you know of any other bugs that I could try to see if they have been repaired

Kind Regards

please try to copy any file to the same location where the same file already exists. The "old" 158 had bug in this situation...

I haven't installed it, but I believe the "156" release currently available from Teklogix is the buggy 158 release from earlier this year. Could somebody who has installed it check the build version? Type Ctrl-H in System, and the number in brackets after Version 1.05 is the build number. The one from earlier this year is build 370, and has the bugs.

nFTP was available in the intermediate 257 build (the so-called 'Italian release'), but that one contained beta ethernet drivers and is therefore not recommended.

I downloaded the version show on the web site & loaded it onto my spare Netbook.

It's version 158 complete with original bugs.

"spare" netBook??? I wish! :D

Seriously, thanks for the info - saved me from a time-wasting excercise. I guess a little more patience is required.
