HELP !!! PEG-S360, Failed to Load dll portdtct

I just bought the serial cradle to use with my Windows NT 4.0 laptop and when I am trying to install the Palm Desktop, it gives me error "Failed to Load dll portdtct".

I just bought this 90$ cradle thinking to get it working, and it is not. PLEASE HELP !!!!!

I believe you need a different version of the desktop. There's a "CLIÉ™ Handheld Palm™ Desktop 4.0.1 for Serial Cradle Update" available at http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/clie/s360/softupdates/
which might be worth checking into.

Thank you for your help, it actually worked !!!
The windows 95 version also works for Windows NT 4.0

I called Sony help desk, they were pretty helpless and pretty much told me to return the serial cradle.

SONY is my candidate for Least Helpful Help award. Though I am quite happy with my S360 it is probably the last thing I will purchase with their brand name. (Actually, the last thing was the modem for the S360 but I think you get my drift.) Try to get them to help you with anything more complicated than installing the Desktop software and you're wasting your time.

My other gripe with SONY is the way they bundle things together. Try to buy just a serial cable. They only sell it bundled with a power converter. I've already got one of those, why do I need another just to get the serial cable?

I downloaded the software from sony for the serial cradle and also updated to winsock 2 from the microsoft download site. Clie works fine now.
