Hey guys,
I've got a Jornada 547 (PocketPC 2000, SH3) and I want to use it for GPS. All I know is i need a reciever and software, but I've no idea what types, how much to spend, is there free software, etc. Please help guys, otherwise I'll just get ripped off by some spotty dixons salesboy!

First of all you need to point yourself in what need of GPS software are you -
do you need it for car , for mapping , etc...
second - man i dunno how much you cvan spend but my advice is :
download trials use them and find valuable for you options and if this is enough then consider buying the app.

Thanks, its for use in the car. just want it for directioins cause i've a crap sense of direction!!

i think GPS speed sentry (http://www.mobiletopsoft.com/other/gps/getproduct.php?pname=GPS%20Speed%20Sentry%201.3) may work for you ....

Swampy's jornada has SH3 cpu, GPS speed sentry does not have version for that, only ARM and MIPS.

Any idea what i need the answerdude? Bear in mind i'm in the UK if that makes any difference?

I'm sorry but your model is fairly old and i don't know any that still supports ppc2000 with sh3 cpu.
