X51V activesync problem

I just received my X51V and am having problems with Active Sync. I downloaded and installed AS v4.1, and when I put my PDA in the cradle, AS pops up, says "Connecting" and then just sits and spins.

I previously used this PC with an iPaq and had no issues with AS (version 3.something). I deleted the old partnership, but it still won't connect.

Can anyone suggest anything else I can try?
