I was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between the iPaq 3835 and 3955. I can upgrade for about $75 but don't know if it is really worth it.

Thanks in advance!

The most notable difference is the cpu; the 3800 series has an Intel 206mHz StrongARM processor and the 3900 series has an Intel 400mHz PXA250 XScale processor.

To me the other major improvement of 3900 over 3800 is the screen. 3900 has a lot brighter and better looking screen.

So basically it seems like it would be a good thing to upgrade it. I have only had the 3835 for about 2 months now and I love it. But I do like the faster processor and better screen. Thanks for the replies.

If anyone else has suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Please describe how you can 'upgrade' to the 3955. You do mean buy a new unit, right? I'm assuming through some type of trade-in / warranty plan you bought?
That would be worth $75 !

Well, by upgrade I mean I can purchase a new one from HP (I work for HP) and have found someone who wants to by my 3835 and it will only be about a $75 difference. I just didn't know if it would be worth any trouble doing that.

I guess I could back up all my PIM information to my SD card and put it onto the new device?

If you are using Activesync and Outlook on your desktop, your PIM is backed up in Outlook. When you first sync your new device, all your PIM data is restored to the new device.

The SD slot is an SDIO slot on the 39xx series, this would allow for things like Bluetooth or WiFI SD Cards.
