I can only use my nr70v for around a maximum of 1 hour (not continuously and with the backlight on) before having to charge it up again. I don't know how many times the data has been lost. Does this seem normal or is it faulty?

I read E Books on mine for a minumum of 1 hour, listen to music during a 45 minute bus ride, and use it to keep track of my business contacts/etc every working day. I hardly ever run mine low enough to even get close to loosing my data, unless I have to much free time to read on a given day :D

Yep, I use mine with the back light for at least two or three hours a day, and then the battery is close to run down, but still has a good bit of life left in it!
Houston, I think we have a problem!

Is the backlight at the brightest? Well, try these things:
Turn it down as much as possible.
When listening to mp3s, turn the screen off,
Watch the repeat time on you alarms, it will turn on everytime an alarm sounds, so if you had an appointment every 1 minute for 2 hours, the next time you used it, it would be dead.
Try using an underclocking utility, so far only fastcpu works with the nr series, and its shareware
Try a "warm reset", this will reset the battery circuits(how is that spelled??)
Turn the beam recieve off when not in use.
All these should help battery life, good luck

Smae for me : no problem. This morning again I listened to MP3 for about 45 minutes with sound nearly to the max, backlight on, and reading a book for about 30 minutes while playing the MP3 and also made a little demo of the machine to a colleague. Result: battery still 100 % !!! So I suppose it is really a battery problem.
Question to previous post: I never use the BEAM command. How do I disconnect ?

To turn the beam receive off go to Prefrences, then General and select off at the beam receive option.

Yes, I just bought a 6 month old second hand NR70V. The battery last for approximately 1.5 hours of continuous use with backlit. It takes 2-3 hours to fully charge the battery. I suppose this battery life is quite short compare to other people's experience. I guess it may be due to the age of the battery.
Question for those who get a minimum of a few hours battery life: How old is your battery?
Another question is how much does it cost to replace the battery?

I've only had my NR70V for about 4 weeks. Now I find I can use it for a good couple of hours but it is not consistant and occasionally the battery drains very quickly
