Hi:
I'm an Ique 3600 user and would like to use it during my upcoming trip to Barcelona and Madrid. Of course, I'd like full interactive maps with routing, but I'm not going to fork up $300 for the Garmin CityNavigator product.

As I understand it, I can purchase the Garmin Spain Metroguide for about $100, and get decent maps and POIs, but won't get street-level routing. Is this correct?? Since I won't be driving too much, maybe this is OK.

I've recently seen CityNavigator available on SD card--from what I've seen, this will not work on the 'que. Is this correct? (If it did work and didn't require activation (i.e. was transferrable), then, perhaps I could sell it after my trip).

As an alternative, there are a number of products available on the viaMichelin web page, including:
A) ViaMichelin Vavigator 4 Spain on SD card (http://www.shop.viamichelin.co.uk/shopexd.asp?catalogID=719). I assume that the Garmin's gps functionality would not work with this, but could I use the maps, POIs, etc?? If so, are these maps likely to be any better than those in Metroguide?

B) Maps and Route Planning Spain/Portugal (http://www.shop.viamichelin.co.uk/shopexd.asp?catalogid=197)
Same questions as above

c) Finally, The MICHELIN® Guide Spain 2005 (http://www.shop.viamichelin.co.uk/shopexd.asp?catalogid=139) has lots of POIs--I assume that this database will work OK on 'que.

Could Fugawi or Pathaway be used to allow the 'que to use the Michelin maps?

Thanks for any inputs or opinions.

-Phil

In case anyone cares, instead of forking it up for the Garmin European map product, I bought TomTom Navigator 5 (north america) for my Treo 650, bundled with a 20 channel bluetooth SIRF III GPS for $210 and then bought the $70 TomTom Spain map. Total cost less than Garmin's maps...
