I am heading to Germany and England late next week and I want to take my iQue 3600 (1 GB SD card) so I can rent a car and tour.

Looking at the Garmin page, I see City Select, City Navigator, and Metroguide which all cover Western Europe.

I did a search on this site and found that all three offer the same map database (assuming they are all the same release), but one (City Select?) breaks maps into smaller "zones" for units with less memory.

Now, which is best for me? My map database is on my SD card, not internal. I want good coverage, good routing, and good navigation. Which do I purchase?

CitySelect is the option at present.
If you want a screenshot of a particular area let me know!
MetroGuide does not auto route.

The new version - v8 - of CitySelect and CityNavigator is out in Februray and will be combined for the iQue and other Garmin units.

OK, CitySelect v7 it is.

Now, I am going next week so I can't wait for v8. Will I get a free upgrade when it is released?

I just purchased an M5 and was upgraded to V.7 of City Select North America. Does Garmin give a discount to owners buying the European version, too? (Don't all laugh at once, please!) I was just curious- and how much do they charge for City Select Europe?
Good luck with your trip!

You can find either CS or CN here (http://gpsnow.com/) or at some other sites for about $300.

Garmin's stated policy regarding free updates is that if you purchase the older edition after the release date of the newer one, you are entitled to a free upgrade.
