Lets say i'm at home with my SJ20 and my battery is fully charged. But i want to use the power supply instead of the battery because a wall socket is nearby and i might as well use that and save the battery power for outside use. Would doing this overcharge/damage the battery?

Also, is it better to recharge when the battery is getting empty and a notification appears on the screen, or can you recharge anytime (eg. 50% 35% etc)?

Thanks

When you get the chance charge it....Lithium Ion Batteries likes to stay full....its better for them....and avoid draining them completely before the next recharge..they don't like that .
I think it's no harm to keep it plugged in while working on your clie....i wouldn't do it though....but clies battery last very long time...i have a sj30...and i'm amazed by its long life....yesterday i used a mini keyboard for like 2.20 hours..and i kept seeing the battery is still 100 percent ..it'a amazing...and the backlight was on all the time .
I thought maybe with a keyboard the processor needs less calculation ...so less less power..less juice needed ..then if one used the on screen keyboard...and so it seem that i could b right here......i bought the mini keyboard few days ago..and its prety cool..make things much easier...buttons to press are a bit hard...but it's not for nothing they are like that..this way you dont press other nearby buttons by mistake....and did i say it's made in japan ..by sony :) ....so you have a quality accessory .

Strangely enough I have a completely different experience with the battery life on my Sony Clie SJ30: it's very short. True that it stays at 100% for some time (say, an hour), but then it drain exceptionally fast. 5 minutes of work will decrease it by a couple of percentage points... I have a 128 Mb memory stick though, so maybe that's the reason... Any advice anyone?

ewww.........did you let it charge properly the first time ?...did you follow the manuel...usually you have to let it sit getting charged for mininum 4 hours...i let it charge for mor then that with me...the first time is important .
And i also have a 128 meg memory stick by Lexar :) (they have a tiny info light that flashes when info is getting in and out on the stick....so i have two tiny lights that flashes .
And it doesn't drain fast afterword with me...it takes time...it does not fall sudden steps....it falls down little by little..just like a candle burning .

P.S: Ohh..i forgot...the speaker is turned off by the way which i think drains fast the batttery when it's on .
