memory stick reader pcmcia

good day psion fans,

Does anyone out there use a pc card sony stick reader with their netbook??

Ive just bought a digi camera and whilst usb is fine for my laptop, ideally I'd like to transfer my piccies to my netbook, can anyone point me in the right direction??

PS I have an "old" netbook, ie one without the new pc card slot power..(dunno whether this will make a difference...)

I haven't used Memory Stick - my camera takes Smart Media, so I purchased an adapter specific to that. My quest for this is detailed in the following thread:

Someone in that thread mentioned successfully using a 4-in-1 adapter with MemoryStick.

By the way, mine is an "old" netBook too - just over two years.

I have successfully used the 4 in 1 pcmcia adaptor from www.zxpro.com for memory stick, multimedia and secure digital in my series7, the only thing I found was that the SmartMedia didn't work in it, zxpro suggested that this might be to do with the way the SM was formatted but I haven't had a chance to try a brand new SM in it.

PS no connection with zxpro but they shipped rapidly and cheaply from Hong Kong to the UK.
