Its looking like I'm going to get a X51v to replace my iPaq 3970. From what I gather, the BT-338 is probably the best wireless BT GPS for my use, and now I'm trying to figure out what sort of mount to buy. I was wondering if anyone here is using a Axim X5* in a car (and perhaps with a GPS) and if they have any suggestions on a mount. I live in the Northeast, so suction cups only work after the car has warmed up inside during the winter... but I've been able to do that with my Navman 3450 OK. I was thinking about vent mounts, powered mounts, quick-release mounts. With the GPS unconnected, there's more options because of less weight. Are there some that would allow you to use a case like a Rhino type so you could pop it out when leaving the car. I do home inspections so I'm in and out of the car 3-4 times a day sometimes plus stopping for lunch on the road.

I'm currently using Mapopolis 3.27 and since I have all my maps, I'm not sure about upgrading, but I'm really tempted to explore other software that would allow me to set up a "route" of say 3-4 stops in sequence. Any ideas on that would also be appreciated.

TIA!

Interesting question. I have a screen mount for my Axim X5, but I have just changed to X51v and bought a new screen mount from eBay that allows rotation too. I suggest you look at something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5863101917&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 which should do a good job
