Just experienced something that I thought I would share. I recently had my onboard memory jump up to nearly full after having about 20MB free in storage. It is still unknown how this happened but I suspect it had something to do with some saved routes and multiple backup files. I tried using Space Detective to find large files but some of the files that were large didnt show up there I had to look manually using Resco Explorer as some of the large system files in Windows folder were hidden in OEM File Explorer.
To my point.
I did a back up to SD card w/Sprite and also backed up to PC w/activesync. Hard resetted and chose to delete all files including Safe Storage. When I restored from Sprite, Safe storage did not restore. I Restored from PC and still no Safe Storage restore. Luckily I had an older manual backup (cut/paste folders) on my PC as I am over cautious about backing up.
Moral of the story:
Sprite does NOT save Safe Storage files
Activesync backup does NOT save Safe Storage files.
If you do a Hard reset, chose not to delete all files OR manually copy files/folders in Safe Storage before a Hard reset.
To my point.
