Greetings everyone -- I just bought a z22 for my wife today and after installing the desktop software and plugging the device into the XP machine, the plug and play manager detected the device multiple times as if we were unplugging it and plugging it back in. (doo-deep..... doo-doop). It stopped after a while and we could successfully hot sync.

Then we installed the "Weight Watchers On-the-Go" software. It requires the handheld to use the hotsync connection to download info from the website. During that hotsync session, all of the normal apps were sync'd just fine , but during the weight watchers part, the plug and play manager just started going crazy and with detecting and re-detecting. I pulled up the device manager and watched it as the "The Palm Handheld' just appears and disappears multiple times. After a few minutes, the sync times out and an error message appears on the hand held saying that the weightwatcher program could not connect to the desktop. I checked the Hotsync log and it says everything was "OK".

Do you guys think there is a problem with the handheld or is this a problem with the particular program.

Also I have tried this on a different machine with a different USB cable and had the same problem

Thanks so much for the help.

I heard back from the vendor -- and it looks like its their program and not the z22.. here is their lame response:

The Palm Zire 22 uses PalmOS Garnet 5.4.9. This is a new handheld device, whose HotSync language and functions differ enough from previous versions that it will not initiate a connection with WeightWatchers.com® via your PC.

The Z22 is a very basic organizer, with few accessories. There is no WiFi Card available for this model at present, therefore we cannot support it for Weight Watchers On-the-Go™.

We apologize for this inconvenience, and are taking this issue into consideration for a future release of Weight Watchers On-the-Go.

Thanks anyways guys !
