I thought I'd share my setting up experiences, as it involved me getting hideously confused! (Works now though)
These settings are for vodafone incidently... (vodafone gprs select package)
First: 7650 settings: In settings / connection settings / gprs:
GPRS connection - when needed
Access point - internet
Secondly psion 7 modem properties:
[Modem] name : whatever
speed : 115200
connect via : infrared
fax class : auto
[options] loudspeaker in use : never
volume : medium
pause time for "," 4 secs
[initialisation] init. (reset) string : AT&F&K3
data init. string : AT+CGDCONT=1
fax init. string :
[advanced] flow control : Hardware (RTS/CTS)
Terminal detect (DSR/DTR) : ticked
carrier detect (DCD) : not ticked
modem type : mobile
Thirdly internet settings:
[service] name : whatever
connection type : dial up
use smart dialing : not ticked
standard dial-up number : *99#
[account] manual login : not ticked
username : web
password : web
confirm password : web
[addresses] get ip from server : not ticked
IP address : 0.0.0.0
Get DNS address from server : ticked
[Login] use login script : not ticked
[Advanced] Enable PPP extensions : ticked
Allow plain text authentication : ticked
Use call back : not ticked
Then simply activate the modem via infrared connection on the nokia and dial in...
Seems to work pretty well - i.e. about 2.5k/s average download for web pages
The settings should work for phones like the 6310 / 6310i and the 8310 as well, though I haven't had an oppotunity to test as I don't own those phones!
For standard dial in use the same modem properties but with nothing for the data init. string
(I don't know whether it makes a difference but I'm using OS release version 1.05(254) - build 756)
Hope that helps someone out there!
